Please join us on Sunday, November 17, 2019 for the monthly Shell Club meeting. There has been a change in the program and we are pleased to introduce a new speaker arranged by Joyce Matthys. Thank you, Joyce!
“A Peek at the Underwater World of Indonesia,” featuring photography of marine creatures from Lembeh Island and Bali will be the program at the November meeting of the Sanibel-Captiva Shell Club. Linda Schroeder, a member of the Pacific Northwest Shell Club, will present the program.
Linda is a very active member of her club and also volunteers as a Lead Naturalist doing intertidal monitoring surveys for several aquatic reserves in northwest Washington. She also volunteers at the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture in Seattle where she assists with the curation of their shell collection. The photography in the presentation is by fellow Pacific Northwest Shell Club members Karin Fletcher and Doug Miller.
The meeting will be held Sunday, November 17th at the Sanibel Community House. The doors will open at 1:45 for a silent auction and refreshments, with the meeting beginning at 2:00. Door prizes will be given. It is open to the public free of charge.
Because of the major renovation project being undertaken at the Shell Museum, the Shell Club will continue to meet at the Sanibel Community House. We will transition back to the museum after the renovations are complete in early 2020. Stay tuned for that announcement.
