The super fun and yummy 7th Annual Shell Enthusiasts Holiday Party Luncheon will be held at the Sanibel Community House on Sunday December 8th at 1:00 pm.
Stayed tuned for the upcoming December Junonia for contact info for RSVPs.
If you joined us last year, you’ll remember how the “Party Team” added more fun games and activities — and this year will be even better!
You will need to prepare for two new contests before the party. Prizes will be awarded for the best personally written short song using a Christmas melody and shell lyrics. And yes, you have to sing it! Also, a prize will be given to the person who is wearing the “Most Tacky Holiday Garb.”
Members of the Sanibel-Captiva Shell Club, volunteers and staff from the Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum, and the Sanibel Community Association shell crafters, shell sorters, and staff are invited to attend.
The cost is free to attend but we ask you to contribute your favorite dishes to the potluck lunch. Beverages, plates, napkins, cups and silverware will be provided. Bring one dish to pass for each individual attending and please bring your own serving pieces.
There will be a shell-themed “White Elephant” style gift exchange this year. Each person who wants to participate should bring a wrapped shell-related gift with a value of $10 or less. Then let the swapping, stealing, crying begin! Remember that unique, desirable, enviable, hilarious gifts get the most trading action which is, of course, the purpose of this type of gift exchange.
The party gives everyone who is involved with the different aspects of shell volunteering an opportunity to get together and become better acquainted.
