Register Now for Jan 20 Randell Research Center Shell Club Field Trip

Sanibel Shell Club members are invited to attend our January 20th Shell Club field trip to the Randell Research Center on Pine Island near Cape Coral. Not a member? JOIN NOW!

Situated on the scenic western shore of historic Pine Island, the RRC encompasses 67 acres at the heart of the Pineland archaeological site, a massive shell mound site extending across more than 100 acres from the mangrove coastline.

Thursday, January 20 – We will meet at 10 am for our 1 1⁄2 hour guided tour of the Randell Research Center on Pine Island, a Calusa Indian Archaeological site with their old shell mounds. We have room for 25 people. Cost is $7 or $5 if over 65 years old. Those interested can meet afterwards for lunch across the street.

Transportation to Pine Island should be arranged on your own by either carpooling (recommended) or driving yourself. Note that there is a $2 per car bridge toll for the southern bridges over the Caloosahatchee River to Cape Coral en route to Pine Island.
