As a very hot July 2019 is coming to a close, let’s look back at a year’s worth of viewing statistics for our new Sanibel-Captiva Shell Club website. Continued gratitude goes to Joyce Matthys who designed and managed the old website so well for so many years (it’s still linked on our home page), and Joyce still does so much for our shell club! While you’re at it, head over to our Facebook page where Diane Thomas is doing a fabulous job keeping us up-to-date with great photos. 4443 Facebook likes and growing!
The new website (the one you’re reading now) has reached over 5,000 viewers in our first year. Total views are almost 14,000 meaning that some readers visited our website multiple times. I have written 28 posts in an effort to keep the website current and interesting. Comments, suggestions for future posts, and photo submissions are always welcome (pics of Sanibel, Captiva, and our island shells/shellers/events only please). Here’s an interesting statistic: Tuesday is the most popular day of the week for viewing our website and 4:00pm (EST) is the most popular time of day for readers.
Another amazing statistic is just how many countries are represented by our website viewers: 62 different countries! Did you realize that our Shell Club has that much global appeal? Shell seeking has been a popular hobby for thousands of years, and I’m glad shellers all over the world are reading our website.
