2026 Grant Application & Guidelines

Sanibel-Captiva Shell Club Grant Program
The Sanibel-Captiva Shell Club (SCSC) is a 501c(3) organization established to promote the study of mollusks and the shells they create, to give assistance and information to others interested in this subject, and to promote and encourage the understanding of mollusk ecology and conservation. The objectives of the club are to provide a forum for the exchange of information in the field of conchology and malacology, to foster public education and conservation of mollusks and related ecological resources, and to encourage and support research activities in those fields.

In order to meet these objectives, the SCSC has established a grant program for university faculty, students, museums, and non-profit organizations in Southwest Florida to conduct research, education, and specimen collection in these areas. Awards are typically for amounts of up to $5000 per grant application per year. Larger projects may also be considered for funding. Grants are awarded by SCSC after a review by members of the SCSC Grants Committee and Executive Board.
