101 Ways to Display Shells Featured in Virtual Shell Show

The 2021 Virtual Sanibel Shell Show is coming to the Sanibel Shell Club’s YouTube Channel on March 5th and 6th from noon to 3pm. The free show will feature over 35 original video vignettes, a photo contest, door prizes, and something to entertain and educate everybody.

Shell Show Chair, Clair Beckmann said, “One of my favorite videos is “101 Ways to Display Shells” because Sanibel Shell Club members are very creative and clever, and they also have loads of wonderful shells to display.”

Thanks to Carol Periard, Barb Timko, Debi McBroom, and Cheri Hollis for these great shell display photos.

You have to wait until Mar 5+6 to see all 101 Ways to Display Shells and the rest of the great line-up for the Virtual Shell Show. This featured video is filled with fun ideas from placing shells within shells, displaying shells on corals, shells around door jambs, shells by type, shells by color, you name it and one of the clever shell enthusiasts has thought of it.

DIY Shell Projects

Related to ways to display shells, we have several DIY shell project videos lined up for the Virtual Shell Show. You’ll see videos on converting a vintage printer’s tray into a bright wall hanging to display shells, how to make a creative shell flower shadow box by the Sanibel Shell Crafter’s group, a timely DIY project on how to Beach Bling your hand sanitizer,  and easy shell magnets from broken jewelry and buttons.

  • I am very interested and enjoying finding fossil shells. Would enjoy connecting with someone who shared that interest. I come to Sanibel for three weeks in Nov.-Dec and wonder if there are any shell pits/tours available.

    • Thanks for your great question. Fossil shell pits are closed to the public and tours are only available on a very limited basis in specially arranged groups. Join our shell club to be invited to any future fossil digs and connect with like-minded people. Be sure to watch the Virtual 2021 Sanibel Shell Show on our YouTube channel Mar 5+6 to see two great videos on fossil shells.
