Virtual Sanibel Shell Show–What You Need to Know

We’re not quite ready to publish the list of videos that will be in the Virtual Shell Show or the links to take you straight to the videos, but here is some information to help you understand how the 2021 Virtual Sanibel Shell Show is going to work. Remember, the Virtual Shell Show is March 5+6 from noon to 3pm EST and it is FREE on YouTube.

Each day will have its own 3-hour movie premiering on our Sanibel Shell Club YouTube channel. The movies will play straight through from noon to 3pm EST both days. The Friday and Saturday Virtual Show movies are totally different from each other with no repeats. Each movie is a series of fun, educational, and entertaining videos running back-to-back for 3 hours. You’ll need to watch both days to see the whole program. And it’s going to be amazing!

Think of it as if you were going to the movie theatre. A link takes you right to that day’s movie playing on YouTube, kind of like a ticket. The movie starts at noon and runs straight through until 3pm. You can come in late, watch all or part of it, you can leave and come back, but the movie will continue playing just like in a movie theatre.

The list of videos in each 3-hr movie on YouTube will be revealed the last week of February right here on our website and in a special edition of our newsletter which is emailed to members only.

The best way to get the list of videos and the links to the two Virtual Shell Show movies is through our membership email blast. All active members of the Sanibel-Captiva Shell Club will receive an email with the links for each day along with any special instructions and announcements. Not a member? It’s sad that the in-person judged Sanibel Shell Show is cancelled this year, but what a great way for everyone around the world to be able to see a virtual Sanibel Shell Show from their own homes. We’re featuring many excellent videos, including History of the Sanibel Shell Show, Recollections of Past Shell Shows, and an Overview of a “Normal” Sanibel Shell Show. You’ll get a real feel for what this famous shell show is all about. See you on YouTube Mar 5+6.

    • Thanks for your great question. The answer is Absolutely! Friday’s Day 1 Virtual Show movie will become public on our YouTube channel after the premiere is over at 3pm EST and you can watch it over and over at any time. On Saturday, we hope you can watch Day 2 with us but if not the Day 2 Virtual Show movie will also be public after the premiere ends at 3pm. On Monday, all the individual show videos will be available separately on our YouTube channel and our. Virtual Show Video webpage.
