The Show Will Go On!

We are thrilled to announce that the 2024 Sanibel Shell Show will take place on March 8^th and 9^th of 2024!   Our new venue will easily accommodate many more exhibitors, high quality vendors and true shell lovers at our annual event than ever before, making it even more awe inspiring to attendees.

Our Beautiful, New Venue – The Marriott Sanibel Harbour

The Marriott Sanibel Harbour, conveniently located on the right, just before the Sanibel Causeway, is our new location that will provide a fabulous venue for easy viewing of world-class artistic and scientific competitive exhibits, as well as opportunities to shop top-notch shell and marine-oriented vendors, and visits with authors who will be signing their books, many of whom live on Sanibel.

Our Most Important Fundraiser

The Sanibel-Captiva Shell Club was formed to exchange information in the field of conchology and malacology, to foster public education and intelligent conservation, and to encourage and support studies and research activities in those fields.  Our most important fundraiser, The Sanibel Shell Show, has long been known as one of the finest and best-known shell shows in the world, and for many years, our show took place inside the Sanibel Community House, which suffered damage from the Hurricane.

Attended by exhibitors throughout the United States, and many other countries, the net funds raised at this annual show, (in recent years, an average of $30,000 per year), are given out in grants to institutions doing ground-breaking research in water quality and other local environmental issues.  We also give out grants to educational facilities to further the understanding of shell malacology.  A substantial portion of these funds in recent years has been donated to the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum and to the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Commission (SCCF).
